An inviting and empowering space for individuals who identify as she/her/they/them to show up, push their pace, and ride together.

Women's Drop Ride

Women's Drop Ride

Why Drop Ride?

Being a “drop ride” doesn’t mean we’re heartless.
It doesn’t mean we’re forming some exclusive, elite crew.
Actually, it means the opposite.

This is for women who:

  • Want to get stronger

  • Want to practice pulling, drafting, grabbing wheels

  • Want to learn by riding with other experienced women

  • Want to push boundaries and find their edges

  • Want to ride with other rad humans who usually roll solo or with men

  • Aren’t afraid to lead, to be last, or to get dropped

We believe there’s power in showing up as you are and pushing your own limits — not someone else’s.

Our Mission (Remix)

We’re here to bring women together who love to turn pedals, ride with grit and grace, and thrive beside other like-minded individuals.

Welcome to the Women’s Drop Ride.
Come as you are. You’ve got a place here.

  • In the event of an accident, collision, or injury, please call 911 first. Once emergency services are contacted and the scene is safe, notify a ride organizer if one is present. Riders are responsible for their own safety and decision-making on the road.

Note: All Women’s Drop Ride Members will have their emergency contact listed on their WDR bike plate.

  • PACELINE SAFETY:

While riding, please work to prioritize safety by practicing extra caution and awareness:

    • Stay focused - eyes ahead on the road and aware of other riders

    • Don’t overlap wheels - no half wheeling, stay FULLY behind, not next to wheels in front

    • Communicate - using clear, concise hand signals and voice

    • Maintain a deliberate and cooperative paceline - smaller groups of 6-7 riders (may mean shorter wait times at regroups), save hardest efforts for climbs

    REGROUPS:

    • There are suggested regroup points and wait times listed for each route.

    • The purpose of the regroup is to provide opportunity - opportunity for riders to try and grab wheels of others who started out faster, opportunity to have a different place in the group when conditions or terrain changes, opportunity to learn from others, practice, improve and progress.

    • As is true in any classroom, we learn from being around others with whom we share both similarities and differences.

    • Regardless of our pace, regrouping creates opportunity for each one of us.

    • Opportunity is something we work to incorporate into all of our rides.  Opportunity allows us to grow and strengthen and stretch our wings.  Opportunity gives us hope, allows us to try things, experiment, make choices and explore pushing up against our current boundaries, often expanding and deepening our self awareness and our capacities.

    • This is a community ride with no leaders, instructors or guides.

    • Ride at your own risk and be prepared to ride solo.

    • Have navigation and proper gear/supplies including a fully charged rear red tail light for safety.

    • Please be familiar with and use hand signals when riding to communicate with other riders and vehicles.
